Deputy Chief Holzingher has agreed to the following. 1 - Change existing systems to simultaneous activation. This has both systems activating should either system need to be used. This is also tied into the water wash control panel for the fire cycle to work when the systems activate,( existing ). 2 - Add a pneumatic 3 gal. system to protect the main exhaust duct trunk. He would prefer to have the duct nozzles located in the kitchen area, as long as the duct is accessible for future cleaning of the nozzles. Should this not be possible, he would agree to locating the nozzles at the duct riser in the electrical closet, but this would require an addition electrical 3 gal. system at this location. 3 - Change existing nozzles to meet present coverage's. 4 - The water wash control panel MUST be in working order and would be part of the test of the Ansul Systems. 5 - Draw and file with the NYC Building and Fire Departments, receive Work Permit, and test. 6 - The dishwasher exhaust ducts must have electrically controlled dampers tied into the Ansul Systems. Before we could give you a proposal, we would need to get into the kitchen ceiling to see if access to the exhaust main duct is available. Also the status of the dish washer exhaust ducts. This will need to be done when the kitchen is finished with their cleaning operations. As we discussed yesterday, a consideration of future changes should be taken at this point. If you or your vendor are looking at equipment changes, now is the time to consider them.
