The aluminum casting weighs 4.11# and uses 413 aluminum. It is currently being run on a 900 ton piece of equipment (requires 450 tons at a minimum). Also, the current source is using 10# shots. The casting is supplied to us raw, machined and assembled at our facility, and then shipped to Harley-Davidson. The current casting supplier has decided to discontinue in business as of 12/31/08. Since the timeframe is so tight, we need the quote for castings and tooling as soon as possible. One set of tooling does exist, however, the first set is in need of maintenance and the second set of tooling has not yet been created.
