Hello, my name is Jamie McFadden and I have been a lifelong resident (aside from college) of Monroe County, PA. Since graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in experimental psychology, I have been employed in various social service positions. Through this work, and through my everyday observations, I have become aware of the need for youth programs in Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg. In particular, programs for disadvantaged and at-risk youth. This has led me to research the formation of a Twin Borough Boys and Girls Club. I feel that the formation of such a group would provide a positive and safe environment for the youth of our community to better themselves and work toward becoming enriched citizens. The backing of an esteemed organization like the Boys and Girls Clubs of America will only add to the probability of making this a successful endeavor. The first step toward the formation of such a group is gaining community backing. That is why I am reaching out to you at this time. Do you consider this a worthy cause and something that you would lend your support to? Please understand, at this point, this is just an informal request for support. The next step in this process is contacting the regional head of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The more civic and business leaders who show their support for this proposal, the better it will be trying to form a club.
