I am now with a start up company in Ithaca called International Climbing Machines www.icm.cc. We make a robotic climbing device that is used by the nuclear industry to enter highly radioactive environments to do decomissioning and decontamination. We have a project coming up that requires us to cut a 40 year old PVC liner. Our testing has shown that the rotary knives we are using tend to heat up during the cutting process due to frictional heat.
