For the last 10 years, I have been getting my product Black Zinc Plated at a large facility in North Dakota, which burned last spring. I have been getting my plating done by various companies in Minnesota, which has added cost and extra time to my turn around time. I am requesting information on a suitable barrel to do zinc plating myself, right in our business. The parts we do are fairly small, about 50 per pound. The pounds per barrel would vary, but I would imagine I would need to do at least 25 per batch to make it effective. I do roughly 2,000 pounds per year, so not a large business by any means, but the shipping costs for me are as much as the plating costs.
