I am changing a car trunk lid from having torsion bars to having struts. I know the weight of the trunk lid and the stroke I need. The problem I am having is when I go into AutoZone or Advanced Auto, they can't tell me the force or pressure of any of their struts. If I get one too strong, I won't be able to close my lid, if I get one too weak, it won't hold up the lid. See my problem?? I know the throw is just under 4 inchs so would want one a bit longer so doesn't lock up at limit. My car is a Acura CL type S with a spoiler on it, and it weighs about 60lbs. I am going to use 2 struts for balance and I need to know which of yours has what I'm looking for. I need at least 4-5"" throw with about 30lbs each. If you have part numbers to make it easier to go in the store and find them would be great. Please let me know.
