If so, what is the GSA contract number? - Is your company a Small Business? - What is the National Stock Numbers for your company's Vertical Honing Machines? - Is your company CCR registered? - If your company is considered a Large Business, would your company utilize a Small Business in some way?, i.e. installation? - Can your company fill the attached requirement? - Is there any reason that a specific honing machine would be better than another? - What is the difference in a high quality honing machine and one that is not so good? When I put together a solicitation package, I will post it via FBO and request proposals then. Vertical Honing Machine Product/Service Description The product wanted is an Vertical Spindle Honing Machine. It is designed to hone the bolt hole diameters on the F119 Engine Hardware for the USAF. It should offer tool parts for IBR disk repairs for .270”, .356”, .395”, .440”, and .521” diameters with hone body, cone, spool, and roll pin. Background A vertical spindle honing machine will have the capability to hone bolt hole diameters using a “rough and finish” or “finish” stroke honing process. This particular honing machine’s primary focus will be to hone the bolt holes of specific diameters on the F119 engine hardware and achieve a surface finish of 32 AA and correct diameter sizes. The equipment shall meet all clearances to support IBR’s 1 thru 9 with no interference between the machine and the hardware. This clearance will allow other engine hardware to be repaired using this equipment. Performance Requirements The critical performance requirements which the product or service must meet are as follows: ? Heavy duty, base designed to accept the honing column and lateral and rotary index table assembly. ? Honing column, extended length and throat designed to accommodate 1st through 9th stage IBR with added clearance, construction mounted to machine base. ? Single spindle, hydraulically operated, reciprocating head assembly including 2 HP, variable speed spindle drive arrangement. ? Linear guideway system assembled to honing column for precise alignment and reciprocation movement of head assembly. ? Hydraulic reciprocation assembly to provide 41” stroke. ? Adjustable hone guide bracket assembly, less hone guide bushing, mounted to machine column. Includes servo motor for manual or automatic actuation or movement of bracket. ? Mechanical pre-hone probe arrangement to locate initial bolt hole diameter. Includes mounting assembly and logic interface. The machine operator will operator will be tutored by “prompts” appearing on the operator console color screen. Two to Four “contact” points will be used to determine the bolt hole location. ? Automatic single motor, AC servo hone expansion system with automatic control for traverse, coarse feed, fine feed, and collapse speeds. Also, includes stone wear compensation, feed rate display, and torque set display. ? Programmable stroke control arrangement including linear transducer and mounting assembly. ? 30” lateral index table (Gilman model HWS-15 or equivalent) mounted to machine base. Arranged with ball lead screw and servo motor/encoded assembly. ? 36” rotary index table (CAMCO model 1305 RDM or equivalent) mounted to the latral index table. Includes gear reducer for table index, servo motor and high resolution encoder with four million counts/revolution and 36” x 2” top plate. The encoder will be mounted in the center of the table. Includes dial plate for mounting of furnished fixture(s). ? Allen-Bradley Control Logic PLC Control System complete with the following: o Panelview Plus operator interface, 12 ?” color touch screen model complete with process set-up screens and diagnostics. o KINETIX 6000 servo controls using SERCOS, digital I/O modules and hydraulic servo module. ? Training Environmental Impact Considerations & Certification Requirements There are no known environmental regulations or product certification requirements which must be obtained in order to manufacture, produce, store or distribute the product.
