We have sets of heavy duty bolted hatches that weigh around 400 lbs and swing down vertically from above. When our maintenance crew does its annual repairs/inspections, they must open and close the hatch manually. In order to make this job easier and to reduce the risk of injury, we are looking for ways to reduce or eliminate the load of the door from being an issue. I was wondering if you have any constant torque springs that can be used as a spring hinge. If you have a spring that could apply a constant force of about 350 lbs or somewhere around that much, and you believe it could be applied as a door hinge, it would alleviate our problem.
