That's the full measurement. 30 feet tall and a 16 foot arm cross. Our present cross was erected, when the church was built 35 years ago, we notice about eight years ago, the cross arms have started to decay, along with the top of the cross. About two years ago we placed metal flashing on the cross arm to keep the snow and rain off. This year’s inspection shows the decay has progress to a point, that make the cross a liability. And we are looking to replace it with another wood cross. We have been looking at different types of wood, that would weather well, have dimensional stability, low moisture content, and good texture. I know wood does not weather well in Sunlight, and rain and freezing weather. We just want to replace it with another wood cross. That will last for another 40 years. A friend of mind recommended, that I may get some help from you.
