We are developing an intra-oral device for use in the medical/dental field, which we are currently forming in silicone rubber. I am trying to explore other materials for this device. A fairly hard durometer (about 50) grade of foam rubber seems very attractive - would be much lighter in weight than the silicone rubber, and might have improved surface traction features that prove advantageous to our purpose. Do you have a medical grade foam rubber that might meet our specifications? Anything already approved by FDA for other medical uses?
