Here is our requirement: QR FOR SOCKS EXTREME COLD WEATHER General 1. To protect feet from extreme cold conditions and to avoid snow affected injuries, pairs Socks Extreme Cold Weather, are used by troops operating in extreme cold climate/HAA 2. Qualitative reqmt. Physical Requirements (a) Weight must not exceed 80 gms. (b) Must be available in free size with length up to 14 inches from the heel +2 cm. (c) Colour olive green/gray/black Technical/Material requirements (a) Must keep feet warm at temp. up to minus 50 degrees Celsius when worn along with Boot Multi Purpose. (b) Composition Socks should be composed min 80% + 2% of wool. Balance to be made up of Viscose/Nylon/Polyamide/Spandex/Lycra or any other patented material. (c) High quality Wool(100% Pure). (d) The toe and the heel end must be reinforced to strengthen the design. (e) The Bursting strength of foot portions of the socks in Kpa, should be 650 min (f) Must be comfortable to wear and the elastic must not be too tight to restrict blood circulation of the feet. (g) Must be breathable in order to give dry feel to the user, while continuously walking during patrols. (h) The elastic at top must not become loose due to repeated use. (i) Must be non allergic and odourless. Note: (a) A tolerance of + 5% in mass of individual socks is permissible, provided the average mass per ten pairs is maintained as per the requirement. (b) The tolerance of composition of material will be +/- 2%. (c) A certificate from govt approved laboratory should be enclosed for the qty and quality of material used.
