Burns 1843 East Inverness Circle Columbia City, Indiana 46725 (260) 244-3733 Work experience: September, 1998 to April, 2010 Senior Mechanical/Cad Designer, Swisslog/Translogic, Denver, Colorado. Designed and created drawings of various Pneumatic tube systems used throughout many Hospitals in the US and abroad. Prepared as built and new system layouts both in 2d and 3d solids using Autocad 2004 through MEP2010. Also created 3d solid blocks of various equipment such as blowers, transfer units and send/receive stations that are placed throughout hospital facilities. Worked 8 years at company location and 4 years out of home office in Indiana. February, 1998 to September, 1998 Mechanical Designer, on contract to SAIC, Golden, Colorado. Work included design and detail of various mechanical components for the Dish Array Solar collector which is used to convert solar power to electrical energy. Work Performed on Autocad release 14 using 3d solids. January, 1994 to December, 1997 Mechanical Designer for three conveying system companies in Colorado. Responsibilities included engineering design and detail of mechanical and vacuum devices used to convey various products. Assigned various project management duties such as responsibility for small vacuum pet line conveyor, which included design of equipment, sizing of blowers and gear motors and determining vendor equipment used. Followed project through from initial sales order to completed manufacturing and shipping. Work performed on Autocad 12 & 13. July, 1986 to July, 1993 Senior Mechanical Designer, Groen Company, Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Designed and detailed various pressure & vacuum mixing vessels & other processing equipment such as thin film evaporators and screw conveyors used by major consumers in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Layout drafting and design work performed on 386 and 486 computers (3 years Computervision Personal Designer & 5 years on Autocad versions 2.6 through 12). Performed various engineering and supervisory functions and interfaced with factory personnel throughout manufacturing process. Contacted and communicated with various vendors to Determine purchased equipment. November, 1980 to September, 1983 Mechanical Draftsman/Designer, GEO Condor Mfg., Henderson, Colorado. Was responsible for 3-4 drafts people while in the process of performing overall layout design on well stimulation equipment. Performed engineering functions such as determining necessary components, quantities and specifications. Work included design of structural, piping, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic installations on off road well frac trucks, blenders and cementers. Cad Background: 1983 Completed six week course on Terac Cad System 1986-1987 Attended and completed two semesters on Aplicon Bravo Cad system at Harper community College, Palatine, Illinois. 1990 Attended and completed two semesters of Autocad at Elgin Community College, Elgin, Illinois. 1986 to present Work experience on Cad included 3 years on Computervision Personal Designer and 20 years on Autocad (versions 2.6 thru MEP 2010).
